Our assistance centre
The Mediation-Info Assistance Centre is open to you free of charge. Its aim is to give you detailed information about the mediation process and explain how it works. It directs you to organizations and/or mediators best qualified to assist you with your situation. Our Assistance Centre does not organise free mediations, however, we may be able to help you if you come with the person with whom you are in conflict.

Necessary Neutrality
In order to respect the rules and guiding principles that govern the exercise of our activity, mediators must guarantee the party with whom you are in conflict the same attention you receive. Mediators can never be the sole spokesperson or representative of any party, they must always remain impartial and neutral. Mediators do not need to be convinced by you, your side of the story is Your truth. The same applies to the other party.

BOUND BY CONFIDENTIALITY
One of the fundamental principles of mediation is the commitment to confidentiality. We are bound by this principal in regard to everything you share with us during your visit to the Assistance Centre during any phone conversation we have. The mediator’s duty is to keep all discussions and information shared during the mediation process private and confidential. Nothing can be disclosed to anyone outside the mediation, except when required by law or with the explicit consent of the parties involved.

Active Listning
Active listening is a communication skill that involves paying full attention to the speaker, understanding what they are saying, and responding thoughtfully. It is more than just hearing the words that are spoken; it is about taking the time to understand the speaker’s meaning and intent. Active listening helps us improve our understanding of your needs. It is an essential skill for mediators in their effort to build trust and work to resolve conflicts.

SINCE 2019
ABOUT MEDIATION-INFO
Mediation-Info has been online since 2019, with the mission to promote mediation in Switzerland and beyond. From the start, its goal has been to establish Assistance Centers to inform and guide people seeking information on peaceful conflict resolution through mediation.
Our first Assistance Centre opened in Geneva in 2023. We are confident that the tools and the supporting structure we are setting-up will allow for other Assistance Centre’s to open-up in other cantons in very near future.
Mediation-Info is part of a wider project that brings together mediators, facilitators, ombudspersons, sociologists, psychologists, lawyers and judges. At the heart of this project is the desire to see the use of mediation grow.
